The Liberty Cycler

Fresenius manufactures a peritoneal dialysis device named the Liberty Cycler. From 2008 to 2010 I was hired as an expert witness by a firm in a patent dispute involving this machine. As part of my research I examined the instrument's firmware source code in considerable detail, and have developed a strong opinion about the quality of the software development practices used to create it.
